Masterpiece Academy Final

I have been treated as a colleague. Dr. Preston trusted us a lot throughout the whole year. I deserved his trust, it helped me get a break while other classes had a lot of work due the next day. In class I had a lot of time to do my work that also helped. I think i deserved it. I think i earned it because it was much needed and i actually tried. I honored it a lot because I actually got my work done.

Fiction has been a great impact in these semesters. We’ve read several of fiction books in this class at least i think so. I like the books we read throughout the year though. The three characters I memorized were; The Great Gatsby, Daisy, and Montag. I memorized Gatsby because he was an important character in the great gatsby. In fact he was the gatsby. I memorized Daisy because she was Gatsby’s lover. I memorized Montag because he was the main character in Fahrenheit 451. These characters were interesting to learn about.

I have connected with some things in this course. I like how Mr. Preston always had something to talk about in the beginning of the class. It was a good way to get started with the class. Other teachers won’t communicate with their students and i feel like that’s why students don’t do so well in their class. This is by far the best English class I’ve been in. I don’t take advantage of Dr. Prestons trust because he gives us time to get the work done which gives me great help to get things done on time. This class motivated me to keep learning. Know more about what’s out there. And make my path to success.

I also like how as i mentioned Dr. Preston talks before class starts and i like how the class has humor. He says some silly things that makes everyone wake up and not fall asleep like in other classes where all you here is the teacher saying blahblahblah in the background as you’re trying to get your work done. Dr. Preston even asks for any comments then there’s silly comments which makes it even better. Some presentations and Dr. Preston had said things that made me and everyone crack up. That class is just great.

I have related several times to some topics and presentations given in the class. Some can be talking about getting to success, Life experiences, Or just their vibe. But mostly in the fact that we’re all trying to find our own way to success. Which is kind of scary cause we are graduating next year then we’re going to be all on our own.

I think i am a hero to myself. In the fact that i’m always motivating myself. I keep myself from having negative thoughts. I keep myself from stressing. My tip is think about the results of when after i’m done doing it and if it’s good. I keep striving for the best. I’ve improved so much at least i feel i did this semester. I left nerve racks especially. That is probably the greatest step. I have enlightened.

we eat social media for breakfast

Social Media is a computer- mediated technology that facilitates the creation of sharing information, ideas, career interests, and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks. Social Media helps us communicate. In social media there's feed back. In social media you'll basically find out anything about a person you were curious about. People express themselves through social media so they can grab everyone's attention about who they are. Or who they want people to think they are. I think that's the main reason why people love social media. My purpose or goal to be on social media is to see how people express themselves to see if we can be friends or not. To see some websites i'm interested in. And to communicate with for example friends or family that are far from me.

Fahrenheit essay

In the book Fahrenheit it starts off dramatic, then makes a dramatic change in Montag's life. At first Montag takes advantage of his profession as a firemen. He burns illegaly owned books, And the homes of the people that own the books. Then Montag starts to wonder how valuable books really are. He then meets a strange girl that changed his perspective on books and his life. Montag opened my eyes as well as he predicted the future through out the whole book.
Montag had a hidden book in his house. He never even dared to open it. Because in his society it was against the law to read books. It was better to watch t.v. and get distracted by technology. Which is happening now if you think about it people pay more attention to technology than books. He was against books so much he took advantage of his job and burned books and homes of people that owned them.
On the other hand Clarrise was an odd girl that wasn't into the things that everyone else was into. For example she didn't like violence or T.V. what she liked was nature and thinking. That caught Montag's attention. How she was into the things that nobody else was. Also Clarrise would ask him things he didn't want to answer about him being a firemen. Clarrise never forced Montag to be distant from what others thought was ok but showed him what was better. She showed him that he had the option to think. Clarrise didn't have a big role in the story but her role had a lot of meaning.
Montag always had a smile on his face when he burned books. It was like his hands had a mind of their own because they were burning things without his command. But then Montag started thinking. Montag started questioning why books effect so much. He then slowly started opening up to books. They changed the way he saw things. They changed his life in general. He then noticed Mildred was an ignorant person for following society. Mildred lives for technology she uses earphones and listens to the radio straight into her ear. And watches T.V. all day she's like a remote is how Montag explains her.
In the end Montag realizes books are good. Montag realizes his wife is a remote. Clarrise was not odd but had a mind of her own. Was being a firemen really his happiness? No it wasn't. This book was good in my opinion. This book was written over 50 years ago and they predicted basically our whole future in it. It also changed Montag as it changed my perspective on books.

What i see in literature

TGG is about a man trying to find what he's been looking for. Prufrock is about love but mostly a breakup. I think that in the sense of love Gatsby and Prufrock relate because love impacts them. Love takes them over.

My first impression

My first impression of the love song by Alfred Prufrock is mind blown. He described love in a whole different way. Well at least compared to what i usually hear or see about love. But that's probably because this generation is stupid.

This book mainly focuses on the main character. So far the main character explains how he has the nicest house in the worst neighborhood.

Music as literature

Music can be literature because if you think about it rappers have to rhyme words or artists use alot of metaphors i think music has to do a lot with literature. Artists have to make sure words sound good re- read them then put it all together with a beat or instrumental background. Music is great though.
